Email

Email can be forwarded to another email address you already have or you can retrieve it via our POP and/or IMAP email server.  You can set up your email accounts at HubNut via the Administrators Control Panel.  You can also add 'Site Users' which will set up further POP/IMAP/SMTP accounts for other company personnel or family members.  We us POP authenticated SMTP, you will need to POP your email account before you can send mail via the SMTP gateway.

POP3/IMAP/SMTP Email Accounts

There are lots of different email clients available that support the mail servers we use at HubNut  (POP3/IMAP/SMTP) including Microsoft Outlook, Eudora and Pegasus Mail.  You will need to ensure that the following information is entered into your mail program.

• Email Address The format is <username>@domain.tld e.g. myname@mydomain.co.uk where

  <username> is the user ID assigned to you (or those you have assigned to site users)

  <domain> is your hostname

  <tld> is the official domain ending e.g. .co.uk/ .net.uk/ .org.uk/ .com /.net /.org
  

• POP3 server The format is mail.domain.tld
  

• IMAP Server The format is mail.domain.tld
  

• SMTP Server The format is mail.domain.tld

Please note that emails addressed to admin, root, sys, postmaster, nobody will be directed to our system operators.

Email Forwarding

Email forwarding is a way of sending mail to one email address (for example sales@yourdomain.co.uk) and having it automatically forwarded to another address (e.g. yourname@yourisp.co.uk).  Email is automatically set-up for forwarding when our accounts are set up.  To change email forwarding, logon to the Control Panel and change the email options.

Email Aliases

Although the account comes with 10 email accounts for ten separate users, each user can have a number of aliases.  It is recommended to use real names for users and aliases for generic names.  So Bob Price may have the username bprice but have aliases set for 'sales', 'bigbob', etc.

Catchall Address

It is possible to set up a 'catch-all-address' on one of your accounts.  Simply add the alias '@www.yourdomain.com' , etc.  This will collect all email that isn't covered by another user or user alias on your account and send this to the account where the alias is placed.

Email Lists

An email list allows you to send the same message to multiple email addresses in one go, and replies to the list are posted to all members of the list.  Email lists can be set from the Administrators Control Panel.

Autoresponder / Vacation Reply

An auto responder can be set up on a specific email address, e.g. sales@yourdomain.co.uk, once activated if an email is sent to this address it will instantly respond with a custom email set by yourself, e.g. 'Thanks for emailing, we will reply shortly'.  Autoresponders can be activated from the Site User Control Panel.

Anti-Spam Policy

HubNut Limited does not allow spamming of any kind through its servers.  This includes sneding mail through another companies server promoting a domain name that is hosted on our servers.
